Been coming here since I was a kid... and now we have the van, it's a regular, summertime, walk-off-the-hangover destination. It's always nice to get down here at Easter, knowing we've got the summer ahead of us. Some of the appeal is in the familiarity I guess. But there's always something different to see, different - often quite rare - birds visiting at different times of year. And it's fantastic that the RSPB have taken over the management of the harbour too. Have England finally found some confidence in their approach to cricket on the Indian sub-continent? They should never have lost all their tests against Pakistan, helpless as they seemed to be against the mystic spin of Saeed Ajmal. Against a mediocre Sri Lankan attack, they appear to have decided that aggression is fine, patience isn't a precursor to panic and the DRS just requires an adjustment in approach that removes the big stride and the pad from the array of defensive techniques. Their bowlers consistently buy them room to get it right... it's a shame they won't be able to consolidate their experience any time soon. Saffers in the summer, but with conditions upon which the English team have built their No1 status. The finest sight in test cricket is Graham Smith failing to accept defeat graciously. Can't, can't, can't wait.
