Gosh. Fancy seeing you here.
There are a limited number of reasons for you turning up on the web-facing bit of timfg.com - the stats say about 70% because you've followed a link that I've put out in the ether, 30% you've Googled my name. And it's partly that latter 30% that drove me to create a site on this domain back in the 90s - I have a pretty unique name and, if people really want to know more about me (or my family) I'd rather they found a coherent story of my own creation than try to piece me together from random flotsam that references me somewhere on the internet.
If you've been here before - pre-2012 - well, it's all changed. I got bored with faffing about with Dreamweaver. I need a site that's easy to maintain, looks good (hopefully), shows off photos (or provides a conduit to Picasa, which can do that for me anyway) and provides a bit of space for storing stuff in which people might have a vague interest. I don't need a site that says 'Look! I can do HTML!' It was a vaguely useful (if somewhat noddy) skill to showcase about a decade ago and no-one is going to employ me for my skills in an analysis/coding environment any more, nor do I want them to: C, Java, Oracle, Unix and any number of incomprehensible, geeky sounding pursuits are very much my history, not what I do for a living today.
This doesn't mean you won't find the same sort of stuff that used to live on this domain. Most of what was here is still here - some it brought up to date as part of the revamp. You also find a whole load of wibble, by me. Sorry, it's just the kind of guy I am.
