December 2014. Reads, giggles, sings, giggles, reads. Pings out of bed at early o'clock and gabbles at me at breakfast until Abby and I make grump noises.
June 2013. This is just abut the only picture of Hatty not giggling. Because Hatty is just about never not giggling.
Jan 2013. Much like Abby, has suddenly started consuming everything she can find in print. Bounces out of bed every morning, full of smiles and affection and energy, Much unlike Abby.
June 2012. So unlike her big sister it's barely believable that they're related. Sensitive, thoughtful, hates being told off - so behaves beautifully, which sometimes makes me want to cry. Still dolly-sized.
Jan 2012. Christmas is over. This doesn't stop Hatty from charging around like a lunatic shouting at everything (with a big smile on her face). Needs Ritalin. Or the beginning of term.
June 2011. Unceasingly happy. Hard to find a picture of her in any other state (unlike her older sister). Still not much more than dolly-sized, looks best in a fairy dress.
_ April 2010. Starts school this year, but will be one
of the youngest. Still pocket-sized, not sure you can get uniforms that
small. But she's more than ready - suddenly transitioned from 'toddler'
to 'person'.
_ September 2009. Hatty seems to be smiling in every picture
here, because, actually, that's what she's like. Looks up to Abby hugely,
insists Mummy is 'teacher', nursery is 'school'. Will perform if we
intone 'Introducing..... Hatty!'
_ Mar 2009. Hatty discovers snow. And talking, incessantly.
Much girlier than Abby ever was - Hatty's world is all dollies, fairies,
princesses and pink, pink, pink. Happier than any two-year old has a
right to be...
September 2008. Still happy-go-lucky easy toddler...but
hints of terrible twos... Suddenly knows hundreds of words. And has
decided to potty-train herself without consultation...
_ Dec 2007. Inevitably, Hatty has changed
hugely in the last 6 months: No longer a genderless little bullet-head,
she's beginning to look like a proper little girl. And she's still the
easiest toodler imaginable!
_ May 2007. Hatty is possibly the easiest,
happiest baby in the world. She never stops smiling, gurgles in the
right places and has shed 17 tears since birth. This doesn't bode well
for the future...
_ 3 months, or thereabouts. Hatty is pretty much a model
baby - sleeps through the night. Gurgles, smiles, dead cute.
_ Day 1 to Day 14. A lot easier this time, Al had a much
better experience, carefully timing an epidural to coincide with England-Ecuador
and spending a couple of days recovering in hospital. Abby pokes her.
A lot.
