Freeware image editing for Windows - oringinally the output from an undergraduate project, sponsored by Microsoft. Very capable, very slick, more than most people will ever need. |

Got an Xbox 360? Like the idea of a game produced for charity? Can spare £3? Then download this. WARNING: Highly addictive, if you get hooked you may find large parts of your life have gone AWOL... |

Bookmark synchronisation for all major browsers. Brilliant - both Al and I have it in our logins on all the PCs in the house (as does Abby for that matter). Couple it with the Firefox awesome bar... just fabulous. |
||
File synchronisation that works. I use it between the machines in the house, for backup and so I can work on stuff on any machine I choose. A lot easier than running a Domain Server in the attic. |

I'm pretty close to Microsoft at work, so got given a copy a few months ago. And liked it so much, I went and bought three more, for all the machines in the house. Finally, a decent OS from MS - it's not MacOS... but it can run a lot of stuff that MacOS can't, on much cheaper kit... |
|
Everyone witters on about Dropbox... but I think this is better. And it's the one area that Microsoft are ahead of Google, although I'm sure that's strategic, rather than technical. If you want to synch files across multiple machines and have them available on the web too... get this. |
||
I seem to have moved my electronic existence into Google's realm... Mail, RSS, Maps, Docs, Calendar, Photos, Analytics - they're pitching hard at the enterprise, but they've already won the personal market for me: No-one else gets near the robustness and integration of Google's tools. |
||
My preferred music app, beating Last FM et al. Like it so much, I put all the CDs in the cellar when we decorated the play-room and left them there. Even pay a tenner a month to avoid the adverts |

The funniest Shockwave doobrey I've come across on the web, period. I still run this up for a laugh every now and then, and I found it at least three years ago.... |

Equally stupid, appeared around the time of the last general election. Not quite as admirable in Flash terms, but still bloody funny... |

An almost academic, but amusing, treatise on the nature of the English Public House, in PDF form. If you have foreign guests with a sense of humour, pass this on... |

MENSA test. Hardly. Puggled institution that is, all said and done. But this is an interesting diversion in Excel format (ie you'll waste the day on it). I got 26 and gave up |

Just to demonstrate that suburban London isn't just *suburban* London ... herewith a jolly nice walk in the local area, packed with history and near rural niceness (ie, there is grass and other green stuff)... |

I searched long and hard for this as a PDF, and very useful it is too. |

An excellent chunk of Java Script that some student will have got an A* for. I offer it here only because I think it's very cool, and really annoying if used in anger. Doesn't work in Firefox :-( |
